On site you'll find a games room, with table top football & pool table,
children's play area and football pitch. Further afield
there's plenty to keep you entertained every day. Free brochures
on places of interest are available at the reception desk. Bicycles are available for
hire from Jedburgh.
Walking Jedburgh and the Borders offer a wide and contrasting
range of walks, from the breathtaking scenery of the Keilder Forest
to the popular guided 'town trails'. On the Park itself, climb Jacobs
Ladder, which takes you up the side of the cliff onto some delightful
country walks.
Fishing: there is good salmon fishing available on the Tweed
and Teviot, or trout from the River Jed which flows through the
Park. Half-day ticket booking can also be made at two nearby ponds
where trout are almost guaranteed.
Golf: For the golfer, seventeen good yet inexpensive courses
stretch across the Borders. Choosing the one
for you is your only handicap.
Horse Riding; always a popular country sport, with festivals
and events in the nearby Border towns. A Sports Centre, Dry Ski
Slope, Swimming Baths/Gym are to be found in Jedburgh, while Hawick
has its own Leisure Centre. Do not hesitate to ask for any further
assistance.
Shopping: follow the 'Woollen Mill Trail' with an interesting
tour of some of the local Mills. Treat yourself to tweeds, tartan
and knitwear at bargain prices, and call in at quaint country
crafts shops throughout the area. A 10% discount is available
